PERSONAL NOTE
Hi all,
It's been a while since my newsletter popped into your inbox. Life, transitions, and a few creative detours pulled me offline for a bit, but I’ve never stopped thinking about the meaningful conversations we’ve had around purpose, possibility, and what’s next.
Whether you're navigating retirement, midlife changes, caregiving roles, or simply feeling the urge for something new, I’m here again to support you with tools, reflection, and connection for this next chapter.
To start us off, I wanted to share some thoughts inspired by my recent Rewire Positivity workshop…

Rewiring Positivity: Why It Matters More Than Ever
By Sharon Dyer
It’s easy to feel overwhelmed in today’s world. Whether it’s uncertainty about the future, changes in health or career, or the emotional weight of caregiving, many of us find ourselves stretched thin. Add in the quiet transitions—like the shift into retirement or the feeling that life as we’ve known it is changing—and positivity can feel like a distant concept.
But here’s what I’ve learned through my work with clients in transition: positivity isn’t about pretending everything’s fine. It’s about intentionally choosing how we respond to the challenges we face. That choice, repeated over time, rewires our perspective—and even our brains.
In the Rewire Positivity workshop, we explored how habitual negative thinking creates mental grooves that become our default. “I’m too late to start something new.” “I should have figured this out by now.” “It’s downhill from here.” These thoughts may feel like facts, but they’re often just well-rehearsed beliefs.
The good news? You can create new grooves.
When we replace self-doubt with curiosity, or regret with gratitude, we interrupt the old pattern and create space for possibility. One small shift—like pausing to notice what is working, or asking “What might be possible now?”—can lead to deeper clarity and hope.
Here’s something I often ask my clients:
“What story are you telling yourself right now? And is it helping or hindering your next chapter?”
When you’re in a life transition, that story matters. Retiring from a long-held career, adjusting to an empty nest, or stepping into a new identity outside of work can leave you feeling unmoored. Positivity isn’t a bandaid—it’s a tool for re-centering. It helps you see what’s available to you now and what’s still possible ahead.
It also opens the door to joy. Joy isn’t a reward for reaching a goal—it’s something we allow ourselves to notice in the present moment: a conversation that made you laugh, a quiet walk, the courage it took to do something new.
Positivity is a practice. It takes awareness, consistency, and support. That’s why I believe in creating spaces—like workshops and coaching sessions—where people can explore this work together.
And if you’re feeling ready to create your own version of what’s next—whether that means rediscovering your purpose, shifting your daily rhythm, or navigating the emotional side of retirement—I’d love to support you.
Which brings me to this…
