PERSONAL NOTE
Hi all,
Summer is here. So many good things happening.
I attended a Retirement Coach Symposium in April. There were speakers from many areas with information about topics that we don't always think about as being about retirement. It got me to thinking about how trying something new or hearing ideas from people we wouldn't had thought would be good sources of information to help those like me who have stepped into their next age.
And as I share in my workshops and programs, trying new things, being curious about things that we may or may not do keeps up engaged. I actually had the opportunity to do exactly this. I have always be intrigued by seeing the art work others create. I thought, maybe someday I'll try that. But I never took the time to try and see if it was something I liked.
So, when I saw in the newsletter for the community I live in that there was a Paint Night coming up in April, I decided to try my hand and take a chance to see what it would be like to paint a picture on canvas. I invited a friend to come along and we had so much fun. The instructor walked us through creating the painting of a gnome sitting on a pot holding a flower. I must say, mine came out better than I expected even if the flower is a little droopy.
We had so much fun we went again in May and I painted my second "masterpiece". I never realized that painting would be such a great activity and that I could actually create something from scratch.
Come and visit me on Facebook at RetirementCoachSharon where I'll share tips I learned and new affirmations to create the positive magic.
